Barbara Brandt was born 12 Sep 1778 in Hummelstown, Dauphin, Pennsylvania, USA. She was the 2nd of eight children born to Adam Brandt (1751-1838) and Eve [Metzgar] Brandt (1752-1830). Siblings: David Brandt (1776-1854), Martin Brandt (1781-1781), Jacob Brandt (1782-1849), Adam Brandt (1786-1844), Martin Brandt (1789-1861), John Brandt (1792-1837) and Eve Brandt (1794-1884). Barbara married Jacob Pence (1774-1852) around 1797. Children: Michael Pence (1798-?), Jacob Pence Jr. (1800-?), Adam Pence (1802-?), Eve Pence (1805-?), Nancy [Pence] Graybill (1807-1888), Philip Pence (1809-1880), Mary [Pence] Brooke (1812-1832), Joseph Pence (1815-1881), Effie [Pence] Alspach (1817-1861), Henry Pence (1820-1912) and Lampson Pence (1822-1863). Barbara passed away 7 April 1850 in Greenfield, Fairfield, Ohio at the age of 71 years, 6 months, and 25 days. She was buried in the Bacher-Baugher Cemetery in Dumontville, Fairfield, Ohio.
