Herbert H. Boylan, all his life a resident of Kalamazoo county, died at 3:40 o'clock Thursday morning after being ill since the first of the year. He resided at 610 south Burdick street. The deceased was 53 years of age. He was born In Texas township, Kalamazoo county, March 16, 1852. When 10 years of age he removed, with his parents, to Portage township, where he resided up to six years ago. At that time, he came to Kalamazoo with his family and settled in this city. During the time he has been a resident of Kalamazoo he had been engaged with his son in the sale of agricultural Implements and had gained a wide acquaintanceship throughout southwestern Michigan. The deceased was a man well-liked by all who knew him and built up a large business through methods of fair dealing. He is survived by his wife, Mary E., one daughter, Miss Lottie B.; and two sons, Otis H., and Hoyt F., all of Kalamazoo. A sister, Mrs. Fred Boyce, Toledo, O., is also living.
