Olaf Christianson 1900-1936

Olaf Christianson, 36, son of Sigvart Christianson of Bagley, died last Thursday afternoon at 1:50 at the home of his father, after suffering several months with rheumatism and other complications.
Olaf Christianson was born in Vstretoten, Norway, on November 3, 1900. He came to this country with his parents in 1909 and on October 13th of that year they settled near Bagley where they have since made their home.
In 1929, on his birthday November 3, he was united in marriage to Birdie Merseth, also of this community. On March 11th, 1936 he became severely ill with an attack of rheumatism. He suffered days of terrific pain, never to recover from this siege, as other complications set in which ended his life here. He was 36 years, 1 month and 14 days old at the time of his death.
Surviving the young man are his wife, Berdie Merseth Christianson; his father, Sigvart Christianson; one brother, Christian Christianson ;and five sisters, Hilda, Mrs. Engebretson, Clearbrook; Helga Christianson, Bemidji; Olga Christianson, Puposky; Anna, Mrs. Anderson, Long Beach, California; and Marie, Mrs. Robert Sande, Moorhead, Minnesota. His mother died in 1915 and another sister Sophie, died in May 1936.
In addition to the relatives, there is a large circle of friends who shall miss Olaf, cheerful, kind, upright as he was.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the St. Paul Lutheran Church by Rev. O. I. Rossing. Interment was made at the Bagley Cemetery with arrangements in charge of the Peterson Funeral Service.
