Oval N. Morgan

Oval N. Morgan 78, of Montpelier, father of a Berne resident, died late Sunday evening in the Marion VA hospital where he had been a patient for eight days.

A native of Lawrence county, he was a retired farmer and railroad employee. Mr. Morgan was a member of the Millard Brown Post 156 of the American Legion.

Survivors include his widow, Gladys Gerwig Morgan, whom he married March 17, 1951; one son, Glen of Montpelier; one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Beer of Berne; one brother, Dennis Morgan of route 1, Pennville; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Runkle of Geneva and Mrs. Orpha Bopes of Tuscon, Ariz.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Walker funeral home, with Rev. Lynfore Orr officiating. Burial will follow at the Brookside cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today. The American Legion Post will be in charge of the military rites.
