∼The son of Henry Clay & Amy (Diller) Crise, in 1860, he was a weaver living in Lancaster County. He stood 5' 10" tall and had dark hair and blue eyes.
A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Philadelphia February 22, 1864, and mustered into federal service the same day as a private with Co. H, 91st Pennsylvania Infantry. He was mortally wounded in action at Petersburg, Virginia, and died in a field hospital.
