Wesley William Painter was the son of William Alexander Painter and Rebecca Haley Painter, probably born in Arkansas. The Mount Hope Cemetery listing shows Wesley William Painter was born in Missouri.

Wesley William Painter married Mary Elizabeth White on November 15, 1883. They had five children, three boys and two girls.

Wesley William Painter and his wife, Mary Elizabeth White Painter came to Afton, Ottawa, Oklahoma from Gatesville, Coryell, Texas about November 1887 and were among the first settlers in the area. They owned and operated the Afton Furniture store.

Wesley William Painter was 68 years old at the time of his death.

Wesley William Painter was an older brother of my ancestor, Matthew Alexander Painter, who is also buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Afton, Ottawa, Oklahoma.
