Mrs. Marietta (Freed) Asper, 83, widow of Dennis C. Asper, formerly of Aspers, died Sunday morning at a convalescent home in the Chestnut Hill area of Philadelphia, after an illness of some time. Born March 20, 1880, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George F. Freed. She and her husband resided for many years in Aspers, named for the father of her late husband. Herhusband had operated the Penn Tile Works at Aspers from 1913 until the 1940's.Mr. and Mrs. Asper then moved to Carlisle where Mr. Asper died November 30, 1961. Mrs. Asper continued to reside in Carlisle until moving to the convelescent some months ago. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Maybelle Asper, Philadelphia, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Peters Funeral Home, Carlisle St, with the Rev. Gerald D. Kauffman, pastor of the Gracfe EUB Church, Carlisle, officiating. Interment in the Bendersville Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock at the funeral home.
