Grandpa Brent was born in Gallman Mississippi on March 27th 1910 ,to Thomas William and Ella Daien Davis who were sharecroppers in Mississippi.
During World War Two,he worked in ship yards in California. Afterwards he became a bus and truck driver for many years.He moved to Holton Kansas in 1971.
Grandpa married Ruth Jane Chancellor on July 31'st 1926, in Mississippi.They were the parents of Marvin Leroy Brent who died as a one and a half year old.They were also the parents of Ruby Elizabeth,Emily Ruth, Romona, and Henry Eugene,aka William Henry Brent.At the time of his death Grandpa also had 13 grandchildren,20 great grandchildren,2 step great grandchildren,and 4 great great grandchildren.
He was also the brother of Addie Cowly,Ethel Pittes,Myrley Fortenbery,Dorothy Meyers,Leland,Floyd, and Thomas William Brent.
One of the things Grandpa loved most was fishing.I remember back in 1975 - 76 when my family and I went to Kansas,(before we took up residence here)we lived in California at the time,Grandpa Brent took us all fishing, we had a great time, Grandpa was a true fisherman. He used to call us kids little demons.
Grandpa Brent died in a hospital in Holton Kansas on Sunday, July 29th, 1990.
