Funeral services for John Beckwith were held at 10:30 AM on June 1, 2000 at the Aline United Methodist Church in Aline Oklahoma. Rev. Connie Schlarb officiated. The soloist was Edie Ent and Irene Lanman was the organist. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Aline under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home of Helena.
John was born Northwest of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma. He was the son of Gilbert Jewell and Anna Sophia Doak Beckwith. He attended Oakdale School for eight years and then graduated from Cleo Springs High School. After graduation he attended one year at NWOSU. On December 16, 1955 he and Fern E Ent were married at Perry.
He is survived by his wife, Fern of the Carmen Home; seven step children, Virginia May (Deed) and Robert Jones of Enid, Dixie Lee and Wendell Beckwith of Cleo Springs, Anna Marie and Bill Galusha of Enid, Mildred Faye (Millie) and Ernie Rader of Alva, Walter Leroy (Jack) Ent of Ringwood, Harold Keith and Peggy Ent of Carmen and Howard Kaye Ent of Aline; thirty-two grandchildren, seventy seven great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and one sister .
