THREE KILLED
Portland - Three persons were killed and two others wounded in a series of shootings here over the weekend.

Victor D. Baker, 42, shot and killed himself Saturday night after wounding a man he thought was seeking the attentions of his estranged wife. The other man, Donald Callahan, 25, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

John Lewis Day, 21, and his wife Helen Lorraine, 19, died in what police said was a murder-suicide. They said Day killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.

Roy M. Collins, 57, was wounded early Sunday. Police said his wife, Inez Mildred Collins, 23, fired the shot in a family quarrel.
