The fifth child born to Jacob and Sarah Coy, David was born in Pike County, OH, on April 2, 1890.
He married Ethel Quincel on Jan. 29, 1913, at Waverly, OH. They both grew up in Pike County.
In the early years,Dave was engaged in railroad work but most of his life was occupied with carpentry. He helped build the new additions to the Richmond Dale Baptist Church and he constructed - and remodeled- the home in which he and Ethel lived at Lakeview on Indian Lake, OH.
They lived in Waverly during some of his railroading days but soon moved to Richmond Dale where all their children went through school. Soon afterward, they moved to Lakeview.
Early in their marriage, they went to Montana and proved up a homestead. They soon sold that place, however, and returned to Ohio although they made several trips to Montana and Washington later on.
At one time, they owned a store on Big Run Road near Overly Hill Road.
They had five children including twins: Bernadette H., Quentin O.,Ethel Bonadine, Harold Gale and Howard Dale (twins).
He died May 21, 1981 and is buried next to his wife, Ethel, in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale, OH.
