Margaret Mitchell was born April 19, 1895 in Clinton, Iowa. Her parents were Karl and Katherine (Jansen)Tambo. She grew up in Cordova, Il., and attended a country school there. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Clinton.

The family moved to Lake Benton in 1911. Shortly after, Margaret went to work in Minneapolis for a short time. She then married Ed Mitchell on Sept. 17, 1914, in Lake Benton at the Diamond Lake Lutheran Church. The couple
farmed near Lake Benton and later went to Tyler where Ed ran a garage. They then returned to Lake Benton to farm and then in 1928 moved to Minneaplis, and have lived there since.

July 6, 1987, Margaret Mitchell died at Ebenezer Health Care Center in Minneapolis, at the age of 92 years, two months, and 17 days.

She is survived by a son Edward of Minneapolis, by a daughter Lue Planta of Nisswa, MN, by 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, by three sisters: Tinne Nielsen, Maren Nielsen, and Katherine Christensen, all of
Lake Benton, and by a brother Chris Tambo of Albert Lea.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed, a son Virgil and a brother Carl Tambo
