CHRISTENSEN
Hazel Edna Christensen, daughter of Henry and Frances Lamer, was born January 5, 1894 and departed this life February 2 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital at the age of 83 years and 28 days.
Her early life was spent in Shelby County, Ia. and on February 3, 1915 she united in marriage with Willis Holm Christensen and they made their home on a farm near Walnut, Ia. In 1943 they moved to Walnut, Ia. and remained there until 1952 when they came to Russell. Two children came to bless their home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter, her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her two children, Dale Christensen of Melrose and Mrs. Virginia (Ed) Wutzke of Russell; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dale Christensen and one son-in-law, Ed Wutzke; four grandsons; one granddaughter and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Line of Laurel, Md; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was loved by all who knew her and was a member of the H.H. Club and Faith United Methodist Church, Russell.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Wauneta McConnell at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 5, at the Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Russell Cemetery.
