CHRISTENSEN
Willis Holm Christensen, son of Chris & Kristine Christensen, was born March 28, 1889 in Shelby County, Iowa and passed from this life on January 10, 1968 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital at the age of 78 years, nine months and 13 days.
On February 3, 1915, Holm was united in marriage to Hazel Lamer. To this union was born two children: Dale of rural Melrose and Mrs. Virginia Wutzke of rural Russell.
Mr. and Mrs. Christensen spent their earlier life farming near Walnut, Ia. In 1943, they retired from the farm and in 1952 came to make their home near Russell. In 1965 Mr.and Mrs. Christensen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Holm was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Pete, Andrew and Marinus; one half-brother, Chris Paulsen; two sisters, Lena and Anna and one grandchild, Elaine Ann.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Hazel; his children, Dale and Virginia; one brother, Otto; two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Lorentzen of Coleridge, Neb. and Edna Martin of Harlan; five grandchildren, Ronald, Jack, Richard and Pamela Christensen and Larry Wutzke, plus a host of other relatives and friends. He will be missed by all.
Funeral services were held at the Woodman Funeral Home, Friday, Jan. 12, at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Bob D. Davis officiated. Interment in the Russell Cemetery.
