Carl Christian Wiegert was the son of Christian Wiegert (b. 27 Oct 1771 in Neubukow, Rostrock District, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State, Germany; date of death unknown; he was a shoemaker by trade) and Anna Pamprin (b. 19 Mar 1771 in Wittenburg, Ludwigslust-Parchim District, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State, Germany). Carl had one sibling that I have been able to find: Maria Anna Wiegert (b. 9 Aug 1779 in Mecklenberg, Germany; she married Joachim Kalfak, and they both lived their lives out in Mecklenberg).
Carl was born 24 Apr 1801 in Zülow, Ludwigslust-Parchim District, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, which is a small village east of Hamburg.
Carl married Sophia Elisabeth Friederica Rieck (b. 23 Nov 1803 in Groß Stieten, Nordwestmecklenburg District, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany; d. 18 Nov 1859 in Gägelow, Ludwigslust-Parchim district, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany). She had previously been married to Johann Joachim Heinrich Hagenow in 1823, and they had three children (Sophia Helena Johanne, Johann Friedrich Christian, and Carl Christian Theodore) before Johann died in 1831. All three of these children came to America and lived their lives out in Iowa.
Sophia Rieck's parents were Andreas Behrend Daniel Rieck (1772-1833, Germany) and Anna "Marie" Elisabeth Köster (1778-1821). Sophia's siblings were Catharina, Carl, Maria and Friederika. Sophia and Carl Wiegert married on 24 Oct 1823 in Gägelow, Ludwigslust-Parchim district, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany.
Carl and Sophia were the parents of :
1. Johann Carl Heinrich; b. 22 Oct 1832 in Zulow, d. six days later.
2. Johann "Christian" Friederich, b. 3 Feb 1834 in Zulow. He married Marie Sophie Johanne Piel on 16 May 1862 in Germany. They had two children there, and emigrated to America in 1865 with his father-in-law. He developed smallpox, was isolated upon arriving and died; buried in New York. His wife and children traveled on to Iowa. (His wife married Christian Tiedt).
3. Johann Christian Friedrich (b. 26 Sep 1836 in Mecklenburg, d. 17 Oct 1904 in Cato, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin.
4. Christoph Henry ("Christ), b. 27 Oct 1839 in Zulow, d. 11 Dec 1920 in Lincoln County, Kansas.
5. Johann Heinrich Christian "Henry" (b. 22 Apr 1842 in Mecklenburg, d. 6 Dec 1925 in Davenport, Iowa). He and his first wife, Sophia, are buried in the same plot as his father.

Carl's wife Sophia died in Germany in 1859, and Carl emigrated to America, leaving Hamburg, Germany on 1 Oct 1863 and arrived in New York City on 2 Nov 1863 with sons Friedrich and Christ. He settled in Davenport, Iowa and lived, in the end, with son Henry and his wife Sophia.
