Daughter of Wilbur Jinks and Ida Bell Adams Culverhouse
Lola Grace is first noted in the 1910 census, at the age of 5, being Lola G. Culverhouse and living with her rather large family in the Daviston area of Taylor County. Her father, Wilbur, was 49, and mother Ida, 36. Those siblings living with them at the time were, Hugh N. 16, Joe W. 15, Mattie L. 14, George W. 12, Doctor W. 11, May 9, Katie B. 8 Emily L. 7, Eva M. 4 and baby, Eula G. 13 months old.
The family remained more or less in tact at least for the next ten years, for they can be found in the 1920 census as living in the same area, of Taylor County and owing a home on Pine Grove Road there. Her father is still farming and Ida is still maintaining the home. Most of the older children work on the farm. Lola at that time was 14, her older briother, Hugh is no longer living with them, however another younger brother, Otis, who was born about 1915 took his place at the table.
A few years later, Grace married and can be found in the 1930 census of Taylor County, GA as being Grace Averett, 24 year old wife of, and living with Oscar Averett, aged 27. They had been married about three years and were renting a home on Butler Road.
Ten years later, they appear to have been living in the same house, they had no children living with them but a boarder, John Christopher, aged 18 was there. Oscar was continuing to farm.
