Kenneth M. Marson Sr., 81, a well-known resident and businessman, died Thursday, Oct. 18, at Cascade General Hospital in Leavenworth. He was born July 25, 1903, at Corry, Penn., and later moved with his family to the Seattle area where he grew up and attended school. On Nov. 5, 1927, he married Marie L. Rottjes in Seattle and in 1947 they moved to Leavenworth purchasing a farm in Sunitch Canyon. In 1955, he and his son Gordon, started the Marson and Marson Lumber Co. where he worked until his retirement in 1969. Sometime after the death of his first wife in 1973, he was married to Gladys Base of Enumclaw and had lived since in the Wenatchee and Leavenworth area. He was a member of the Natapoc and Chumstick Granges. Survivors include Gladys at home; e son, K. Gordon Marson of Leavenworth; one foster son, George Bridges of Brewton, Ala.; one sister, Elsie Marson of Seattle; four brothers, Marson Sr. Harry of Lynnwood, Jack of Woodinville, Marty of Port Townsend and Frank of Leavenworth; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Funeral services for Mr. Marson were conducted Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 12:30 pm in Wards Funeral Chapel wrih Rev. Piula AliIlima officiating. Pall bearers were Jewell Satterfield, non Boggs, Roger Delzer, Jerry Dirkse, Joe Williams and Ernie Leah Moats was the musician and Rev. AliIlima sang "His Eye is on the Sparrow." Then he and Diane Norman sang "In This Very Room." Concluding services and interment followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
