Cortney Leigh Franklin, age 14, of Toledo, Oh, died Friday, February 17, 1995 as a result of an automobile accident. She was born October 13, 1980 in Sylvania, Oh to parents James and Celest (Orth) Franklin. She was a member of Girl Scout Troup #468 and the Youth Group of Shelton Park Baptist Church, Lambertville. she also loved horseback riding.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by sisters, Stephanie and Jacquelin, both of Toledo; grandmother, Rita Franklin of Monroe, MI; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gregory and Lucy Orth.

Luna Pier, Michigan - A Petersburg, Mi, woman remained hospitalized yesterday following a fatal collision between a car and a school bus in Erie Twp. Katherine Pugh, 43, was listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit at St Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
According to Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy Troy Goodnough, the accident occurred Friday when a Bedford, Mi. school bus driver disregarded a stop sign on Strasburg Road and pulled into the path of Ms. Pugh's vehicle on M151. The right front section of the car struck the left front of the bus. Ms. Pugh's passenger, Courtney Leigh Franklin, 14, of Toledo, was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver, Dorothy Duhame, 59, of Temperance was listed in fair condition at St. Vincent. The accident remains under investigation.
