Funeral services were conducted from the Poplar Creek Church for Mrs. J. H. Gilbert, 75, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. L. Richardson, in Florence, Thursday, April 24, at 11:15 a.m. Dr. B. T. Waites officiated and Brown Service of Florence was in charge of burial at the City Cemetery.
Mrs. Gilbert, born and reared in Limestone County resided here until about a year ago when she moved to Florence after the death of her husband. She suffered a stroke and died from pneumonia after having been in ill health for some time.
Survivors, other than Mrs. Richardson, include one son, Curtis Gilbert of Portsmouth, Virginia; two granddaughters, Mrs. Steve Green of Huntsville, Ala., and Ann Gilbert of Virginia; one sister, Mrs. Josie Owen, Auburndale, Fla.; and two brothers, Charles McCormack, Athens Route two and John McCormack of Texas.
Friends of the deceased from Florence served as pallbearers.
