Elsie M. Barrickman, 87, of 633 14th St., died at 1:40 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2001, in Sugar Creek Station, Franklin RD 3. Born June 7, 1914, in Bear Run, she was a daughter of George M. and Malina Heartenstine Patterson. She spent her early life in East Sandy and later moved to Franklin where she attended the public schools. Mrs. Barrickman was a member of the Salvation Army in Franklin. She was married June 11, 1936, to Robert S. Barrickman, who died July 7, 1967. Surviving are three sons, Robert E. Barrickman and his wife, Betty, of Sharon, Charles L. Barrickman and his wife, Ruby, and Harry L. Barrickman, all of Franklin; a daughter, Ruby Shields of Franklin; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. William (Effie) Anderson of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Barrickman was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Pierce; a son, William D. Barrickman; three grandsons, Danny Barrickman, Richard Saeger and Donald Shields; three brothers, James E. Patterson, Lewis H. Patterson and Frank W. Patterson; and two sisters, Sarah Ann Sanford and Ethel Vroman. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Lt. David Rhodes of the Salvation Army, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. The family suggests donations be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County, 308 Seneca St., Oil City, 16301.
