Vesta Lou Tibbitts was the fourth of five children born to Horace and Margaret Tibbitts. Vesta never married. She was a school teacher near her home in Hingham Wisconsin. In 1917 she moved to California with her Aunt Ellen and a cousin. The three ladies ran a boarding house in Atascadero.
