Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Cooper River Baptist Church, Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at ten o'clock.
Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC. GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL this Tuesday evening from seven until nine o'clock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cooper River Baptist Church Choir Fund, 1059 Crawford Street, N. Charleston, SC 29406. Born May 19, 1923 in Aiken, SC, Mrs. Hilton was the daughter of W.R. and Lucy Fox Corder.
She was a retired Office Supervisor with the Charleston County RMC Office. Mrs. Hilton was a faithful and active member of Cooper River Baptist Church and the church choir. As a long-time resident of Folly Beach, Mrs. Stephens-Hilton owned and operated Stephens 5 and 10 Cents stores with her husband, James E. (Steve) Stephens, who preceded her in death. Many may also remember her as a hostess at the Sandbar Restaurant.
Surviving Mrs. Hilton are three sons: William D. Stephens and fiancée, Margie of N. Charleston, James E. Stephens and wife, Paula of Lexington, SC and John W. Stephens and wife, Jean of Naperville, Illinois.
In addition there are fifteen grandchildren, and a very special friend, James L. Smith. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Robert Silgals and the sixth floor staff at Trident Hospital.
