Ellen came to Wisconsin at 6 months of age with her parents to the place named by them, Hingham. She taught school 20 years, then took care of an elderly couple in South Milwaukee for 11 years. She moved to California in 1917 with her nieces, Lodie Walsh & Vesta Tibbitts and sister-in-law Margaret Tibbitts. She furnished many of the stories of the pioneer life found in the Tibbits history.
