Abiah was the third daughter of five, Peggy, Permilla, Judith, Ruth and five sons; William, John, Cornelius, Henry C., Gabriel Jr., born to Gabriel L. Sr. and Sarah Wing Horton, daughter of William and Judith Weed Wing.
Her father, and family were one of the first Hortons to come from Westchester Co NY to Montgomery Co NY in 1800.
She married William Henry Rhodes, son of Richard and Rachel Horton Rhodes, abt 1818. They had 7 children, Gabriel, Richard, Charles, Samuel, Isaac Newton, Mary M. and Ruth Permilla.
Abiah today lies beside her husband in a very small plot of ground known as Van Auken Cemetery, Stony Creek NY. This area is the front yard of a wooded mountain home.
