Daughter of the late A.G. Askew and Willia Baker Askew, she was the widow of Eldridge Pittman (married over 50 years). She was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church for over 65 years. She was survived by two sons and two daughters, Kay E. Pittman (Patricia), Robert Pittman, Linda P. Bunn and Jane P. Thomas (Bruce); ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Ferrell; and brother, Ben Askew. Her funeral was held October 9, 2008, at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Richard Glosson, The Rev. Andy Bunn and Mr. Franklin Lane officiating.
