Brian Chad Westmoreland, 30, New Smyrna Beach, died peacefully Friday, March 28, 2008, at Hospice Care Center surrounded by is family.

He was born in Marathon, Fla. Feb 7, 1978, and was a lifelong resident of New Smyrna Beach. He attended New Smyrna Beach High School and worked as a carpenter for Mann Construction for many years. He was an active skateboarder and active in getting the skateboard park on Julia Street built. He also loved to race dirt bikes.

Survivors include his mother, Teresa (Steve) Jontes, Port Orange; father, HD (Helen) Westmoreland, Hawaii; sister, Angela (Brian) Sutphin, Mt. Airy, N.C.; brother, Matthew Westmoreland, Hawaii; grandmother, Alma Livesay, New Smyrna Beach; paternal grandparents, Pauline and Robert Jontes, New Smyrna Beach; niece, Ashton Sutphin; and uncles, aunts and cousins.

Funeral service will be 6 p.m. Monday at Baldwin Brothers North Causeway. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until service time. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodland Cemetery Port Orange. Donations are requested to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange FL 32129.
