Stewart Wayne Greene, 83, of Friendsville,TN passed from this life, Sunday October 12, 2008 at his home. He was a member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church. He spent his life loving his family and working hard with his hands,raising tobacco,repairing cars, home appliances, and anything else in need of repair for family and friends. He retired from Craig's Marble Quarry in Friendsville. He never retired from hard work. He enjoyed fishing; hunting and working in his garden. He was disappointed with the "waste" when he couldn't gather his okra this year due to illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Linginfelter Greene; parents, West and Paralee Greene; brothers, West Jr., Edward, and Glenn; sisters, Jean Miller, and Nell Huskey. Surviving are daughters and sons in law, Carion and Steve Ridley of Friendsville; Paula and Rex Rogers of Louisville; son and daughter in law, Doug and Jo Greene and granddaughter, Elizabeth of Alcoa; grandsons, Chris Pridmore and wife Libby; Craig Pridmore, Ryan Rogers and wife Jamie; Dustin Greene and wife Heidi; Westin Greene and wife Shana; and six great grandchildren, Alex and Caroline Pridmore, Garrett Rogers, Taylor, Sierra, and Kaltrina Pridmore; brother and sister in law Leonard and Trula Greene of Friendsville; brother Howard Greene of Maryville; sisters, Helen Greene of Maryville, and Lillie Garland of Townsend; sisters in law, Lou Greene of Friendsville and Lucille Greene of Maryville; brother in law Rev. Isaac Linginfelter of Maryville; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday October 15, 2008 at Zion Chapel Cemetery in Louisville, Rev. Westin Greene officiating. Memorials may be made to the church or charity of one's choice. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville .
