Laymond Cloud, 79, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Varnadore and Rev. Donna Bevels officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Kelly Mount, Sr, Kelly Mount, Jr., Jason Mount, Joe Barber, Morris Nichols, Darrell Davis and Ted Martin serving as active pallbearers and Flint River Hospice will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Cloud was born April 13, 1929 in Decatur County, GA, the son of Thomas Jefferson Cloud and O'Zelma Pate Cloud. He graduated from West Bainbridge High School and Dothan Business School. Mr. Cloud owned and operated Laymond M. Cloud Public Accountant and was a member of Bainbridge Church Of God. He was a member of Tonemasters Quartet for forty years where he recorded over thirty albums. Mr. Cloud was a renowned first tenor and piano player and appeared on the Grand Ole Opry. He Inspired Bainbridge with all night gospel singing, Mr. Cloud had a passion for music and loved to share it with others. He was preceded in death by his son, Fred Bridges and his sister, Jean Nichols Edwards.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Riddle Cloud; four sons, Mance Cloud and his wife Angela of Bainbridge, GA, Dwight Cloud and his wife Beth of Cumberland, VA, Glenn Ray of Pensacola, FL and Larry Ray and his wife of Montgomery, TX; one daughter, Gail Mount and her husband Kelly of Wausau, FL; his nephew, Morris Nichols and his wife Jennifer; his niece, Twan Barber and her husband Joe; twenty grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
