Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Burial with military honors by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 26 will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.
Mr. Vandiver was born Nov. 2, 1917, in Kirkland. He married D. Lee McLemore on April 28, 1940, in Tucumcari, N.M. They were married 68 years prior to her death on Sept. 12, 2008. A World War II veteran, Mr. Vandiver served in the U.S. Army in the Alaska/Yukon Territory during the war. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He retired in 1982 from Colorado Interstate Gas Co., where he had been a dispatcher for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Ellis and wife Susan Vandiver of Crawford and Don Vandiver of Lubbock; and two grandsons, Adam Vandiver of Cabot, Ark., and Matthew Vandiver of Lubbock.
