Ralph Waldo Adams, Jr., age 62, of Ebb Tide Harbour, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown. Mr. Adams was born in Conway, a son of the late Ralph Waldo Adams, Sr. and Ruby Larrimore Adams. He retired from Santee Cooper as Supervisor of Distribution and Operations. Mr. Adams was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves and serves aboard the USS Semmes DDG18. He was a member of the SC National Guard from 1974-1988 and retired as a E7 Sergeant from the 1/263rd Armor Division. He was a Mason and was a member of the Horry Lodge # 381 A.F.M., the Scottish Rite of Charleston, the Omar Temple of the Shrine and the Myrtle Beach Moose Lodge #159. Mr. Adams was predeceased by a sister, Frances Adams Skipper. Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Adams of Myrtle Beach, one daughter, Paige Adams Morgan and her husband, Derek of Troutman, NC; one son, Joseph Marcus "Marc" Adams of Myrtle Beach; two grandchildren, Teryn Morgan and Jake Morgan; one brother, John Adams and his wife, Diane of Conway; a special aunt, Frances Adams Franklin of Prarie Village, Kansas; and a brother-in-law, Earl Skipper of Conway. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Mack Hutson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
