"Funeral Services Are Held For A Young Mother" ~ LaVerda Claire Orrock Laid To Final Rest Sunday - Once again the angel of death reached untimely into the garden of life, taking with him a young wife and mother, Mrs. LaVerda Claire Orrock, wife of Eugene Orrock.

Her death occurred July 22, at 1:00 AM, and was caused by a broken blood vessel. Dr. R. Garn Clark had visited her the same night between 10 and 11 o'clock and left her apparently well. The unexpected death was a terrible shock to all of her friends, her relatives and her husband, who was with her since she took to bed about two weeks ago.

The deceased was an Elsinore girl, 27 years of age. She leaves three children, a boy, Ted Elliott, 7 years; Beatrice Maria, 4 years old, and the two week old baby girl, who is not yet named.

The deceased had the comfort of having with her during her period of sickness her mother, Mrs. Beatrice Lee of Alberta, Canada, who had come here to be with her daughter this critical time of confinement.

Deep sorrow has gripped all of these hearts, and many friends of the deceased and of the family are sympathizing with the survivors.

Funeral services took place Sunday afternoon at the First ward meeting house, Bishop Frank Ogden officiating. Music was rendered by the First ward choir. The funeral had been postponed to such a late hour on account of the father and brother of the deceased who were on their way from Uinta County to pay the last tribute of love to their beloved. On account of a washout in the canyons, it had been impossible to make connections in Thistle, making their presence at the funeral impossible."
