Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Christ The King Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and will continue 1 hour before services at the church. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
June was born to John and Olga Rolland on June 15, 1918 in Thief River Falls, MN and graduated high school there in 1936. She worked for F. W. Woolworth for 3 years as a department manager and married Burt E. Emanuel on September 3, 1939,

Burt and June met at a dance, which was something they both enjoyed and continued enjoying together for the next 50 years. June began singing with the Federated Women's Club Chorus in 1946 and also began composing song lyrics and melodies. They moved to Mankato in 1956 where she joined Bethlehem Church Choir and sang with them for a number of years. She joined the Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does in the early 1950s and the Mankato Order in 1962. She served as local President in 1966, State President, and was also Chaplin at a National convention. June and Burt operated the Minneopa Liquor Store from 1956 to 1973 when they retired. They moved to Lake Francis where they enjoyed lakeside living for 14 years, after which they moved back to Mankato. June's latest hobbies were playing bridge with friends, composing poetry and song lyrics, which she compiled into a book in 2002.

Survived by her son Burton R. (Colleen) Emanuel of Mankato; daughter Gail K. Malvin of North Mankato; grandchildren: Kimberly Manderfeld of Mankato, Tamara Emanuel of Mankato, Brandon Emanuel of Mankato, June (Ward) Lonnquist of North Mankato, Scott (Amy) Malvin of Good Thunder, Robert (Kaama) Malvin of Prior Lake, Laura (Doug) Berg of Rochesster, Mathew Malvin of Eagle Lake; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; 4 brothers; 2 sisters-in-law; 1 son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren.

June was dearly loved by many. She will be missed by all those who have survived her and will be welcomed by all those who preceded her in this life.
