+++++++ IN MEMORY OF MRS C. B. TILLMON ++++++++++

A pail of sadness fell over this community when it was learned that Mrs. C. B. Tillmon had passed out of this life at her home here Friday night, May 27, 1932.
Mary Melissa (Dollie) Jackson was born February 18, 1875 in Jones County, Georgia. She was married to Charlie Bartow Tillmon in 1891 moving to Texas in 1895. She has lived here all that time. To this union was born nine children, eight living, Burner, Alvin, Joe Bob and Boyd; Mrs. Sue Lee Parish, Mrs. Bessie Moss, Mrs. Mozell Rasco, and Mrs Ina Thompson; deceased is Eunice Tillmon. She also leaves her husband, one sister and three brothers, nine grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives to mourn her death.
She was a faithful wife, a loving untiring mother, a good neighbor and friend. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church for many years, attending services the Sunday before her death.
It was beautiful to see the children's devotion to her during the long time she was physically ailing; how they administered to her every need and want until God said: "It is enough; come up higher."
Though our hearts are aching with loneliness, yet we know, if the misty veil could be lifted we could see her in that heavenly home where there is no sorrow nor death, and we know if she could send a message back to her loved ones and friends, it would be: "In the midst of life we are in death--therefore, take warning by my untimely death, and prepare to meet thy God."
Oh! How sweet it will be in that beautiful land; so far from sorrow and pain; with songs on our lips and harp in our hands; to meet one another again.
To you who will miss the touch of a mother's hand, may the God who has taken her away bless you and keep you safe, and save you for a glorious resurrection. We would not call her back if we could, but will strive each day to live so we can go to her and our God.
Never a trial that He is not there. Never a burden He doth not bear. Never a sorrow He does not share. Moment by moment you are under His care.
Funeral services were held at Ebenezer Church Saturday, May 28th at 4:00 o'clock. Interment in Ebenezer cemetery. -- One Who Loved HER.
