Emery W Parkison, age 86, of Joplin, died Thur, Sept 25,2003 at 6:38 a.m. in a local hospital. He was born Aug 15,1917 in Nashville, Missouri, son of the late Sam & Evoline (Jones) Parkison.
He moved from Oakton, Missouri to Joplin in 1948. He was a driver for Tastemark, Foremost and Highland Milk Companies for several years before retiring in 1982.
After his retirement, he worked as an independent carpenter.
Mr Parkison was a member of the Forest Park Baptist Church.
He married Maxine Maude Arner on September 21, 1940, she preceded him in death June 26, 1968. He married Doris Combs Smith on July 10, 1969, she preceded him in death on February 3, 1988. He married Dorothy Hicks on Sept 26, 1991 in Joplin, she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Richard Parkison of California City, California and Lyle Parkison of Springfield, Missouri; two daughters, Dee Ann Arentz, Terry Dyer both of Springfield, Missouri; step-son, Carl Raines of Wichita, Kansas; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Church services were held Monday, Sept 29, 2003 at 11:00 a.m at the Forest Park Baptist Church with Dr John Swadley and Pastor Russell Ball officiating. Burial was in Iantha Cemetery at Iantha, Missouri.
