She was Isaac Newton Rimer's second wife. They married in Hawkins County, Tennessee, after the Civil War. He was a Baptist preacher and felt called to preach in Texas. They traveled by train to Texas, with their younger children, where he preached for several years before they moved to Cement, Oklahoma. Rause Catherine died from a rattlesnake bite. She is buried by Isaac.
