Louis H. Simpson, 78, of 545 Johnson Court died at 3:33 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 1993, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Born May 22, 1914, in Prairie City to Harvey L. and Ada Johnson Simpson, he married Pearl Nott on Oct. 1, 1949, in Lewistown. She preceded him in death. He later married Norma Simpson on Oct. 14, 1989, in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, James L. of St. Louis; two stepsons, Harry E. Shaw of Simi Valley, Calif., and Michael Lillie of Florida; one daughter, Patricia Plotmer of Springfield; four stepdaughters, Patricia Brown of Gustine, Calif., Virginia Babcock of Pensacola, Fla., Toni Lillie and Luann Mallicoat, both of Canton; four brothers, Carl of Canton, Wayne of Washington, D.C., Leroy of La Prairie and Robert of Escondido, Calif.; five sisters, Mildred Winship and Joanne Smith, both of Cuba, Helen Elliott of Canton, Betty Cernich of Farmington and Dorothy Danevit of Dunfermline; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was a welder at International Harvester Co., retiring in 1970.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Canton.
He was a member of Fairview Masonic Lodge 350, AF& AM.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home. The Rev. David Seitz will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the memorial home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to his church.
