LORIS | Mr. Jack Hershel Boone, 70, died Monday morning, May 22, 2006 at Myrtle Beach Manor following an illness. Born Aug. 28, 1935 in Dillon, he was the son of the late Fred Leon Boone and the late Mary Christian Bailey Boone.

Mr. Boone served his country with courage and honor as an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the Loris Masonic Lodge # 205, the Omar Shrine Center in Charleston and the Omar Goofy Golfers Shrine Unit in Loris.

Mr. Boone owned and operated the Loris Coffee Shop for 32 years. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife, Virgie M. Boone of Loris; one son, Mickey Boone of Loris; two daughters, Rhonda Royals and husband, Pete, of Conway and Wanda Royals and husband, Bill, of Conway; three brothers, Leslie Boone of Conway, Nevel Boone of Loris and Roy Boone of Bloomingdale, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Kate Register of Tabor City, N.C. and Betty Holmes of Loris; four grandchildren, Melissa R. McKeever, Kayla Royals, Amanda Royals and Linsey Boone; and one great-grandchild, Bradley Jackson McKeever.

Mr. Boone was predeceased by one brother, Leon Boone; and two sisters, Kathleen Fowler and Mildred Elliott Strickland.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. in Loris First Baptist Church, with committal services following at Twin City Cemetery with full Masonic Rites. Officiating will be Reverend Mike Kinlaw.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, May 23, 2006 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hardwick Funeral Home.
