Died, at the family residence, 621 North Seventh street, at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning, Sept. 18, 1902, Elihu Bandy, aged 77 years, 5 months and 5 days. Mr. Bandy was a native of Washington county, this state, and had been a resident of Springfield for the past quarter of a century. While in Springfield he followed the vocation of a truck gardener. Mr. Bandy was a veteran of both the Mexican and civil wars, and was admired in G.A.R. circles.
The surviving family is composed of the widow, Mrs. Melvina Bandy, five daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Scheetz, of Farmersville; Mrs. Mary McCurly and Mrs. Julia Kotschi, of Springfield, and Misses Hattie and Sadie Bandy, residing at home; also by two sons, Luther and James Bandy, of this city.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning from the family residence. Interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
