Walter Junior Glotfelty, 71, of East Main Street, Everett, died Tuesday, May 12, 1998 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 16, 1926, in Meyersdale, a son of the late Walter E. and Emma (Kretchman) Glotfelty. On Sept. 19, 1948, in Westminister, Md., he married the former Beulah Miller. She survives, along with a daughter, Connie Akers of Waldorf, Md., three grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Pauline Spear of Berlin; Lee Glotfelty and his wife Helen of Bartlesville, Okla.; Hazel Critchfield of Meyersdale; and Robert Glotfelty and his wife Dolly of Berlin. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clark and Mack. Mr. Glotfelty was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Everett; Everett Free & Accepted Masons, Lodge 524, Valley of Harrisburg Consistory; and Meyersdale Elks. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and received the Army Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and European African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. Mr. Glotfelty retired from Ryder/PIE Truck Lines of Hagerstown, Md., where he was an over-the-road driver. Funeral services: 11a.m. Thursday at the Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Everett, with the Rev. Elsa Clark officiating. Burial in the Everett Cemetery with military grave side honors by the Everett Honor Guard. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to service Thursday at the funeral home. Everett Masonic Lodge will conduct a service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, following by a DAV service at 7:30.
