Lawrence L. Griffin received his education in the public schools at Grants Pass and Phoenix, Oregon and grew up on the home farm, taking an interest in ranch work. At 15 he went to work in a mine and about 1900 he arrived in Klamath county and worked by the day. He saved money and acquired a small herd of cattle and leased land and, worked as foreman for the BK Ranch near Bly, Oregon for 6 years. In 1925 he purchased propery. He continued in the stock business.
In Lakeview, Oregon in 1907 he married Grace Oswald. They had one son, Lawrence O. Griffin, born in Josephine County, October 6, 1907. On March 8, 1913, Mrs. Griffin passed away and on January 8, 1938 Mr. Griffin married Inez Givan. Inez has four children, Ellen, Martha, Gordon and Jill.

Lawrence L. Griffin, member of a pioneer ranch family of Bly, died December 19th at Hillside Hospital. He was 79 and had lived at Bly for 63 years after coming to Klamath County when he was 16 years old.
He spent his entire lifetime at Bly as a rancher and livestock producer.
Survivors include the widow, Inez, at one time postmaster at Merrill, Oregon, living in Bly; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Duane Cassidy, Klamth Falls and Mrs. Don Shaver of Woodland, Calif., a stepson Dallas Givan, Jr. of Klamath Falls, a brother Everett Griffin of Trinidad, Calif., three grandchildren, Loretta Smith Neil and Gilbert Griffin, all of Bly.
