Mrs. Georgia Mae Dixon Akins, 78, died Dec. 29 in Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was a native of Bulloch County, and had lived in the Middleground Community all her life. She was a member of the Eureka Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, J. Doy Akins of Statesboro; two daughters, Mrs. Fay Morris of Jacksonville and Mrs. Shirley Smith of Tifton; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Deal of Statesboro, Mrs. Jim Blocker of Hinesville and Mrs. Mary Parker of Savannah; three Brothers, Enoch, Nimrod and Lloyd Dixon, all of Statsboro; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be today at 2:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Smith-Tillman Mortuary with burial in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
