EASLEY, SC - Charles William Banks, 71, husband of Myrtle Bowers Banks, of 502 Banks Road, died Sunday,, September 28, 2008 at his home.

Born in Pickens County, S.C., he was the son of the late Jay Walter and Jessie Mae Nalley Banks. He was retired from Cornell-Dubilier and attended Peters Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by a son, Ronnie Banks of Easley; a daughter, Tammie Knight and her husband Steve of Easley; two brothers, Lloyd Banks and his wife Darlene, of Portales, New Mexico, and Curtis Banks and his wife Janice of Anderson; two sisters, Gladys Garrett, Ruby Bell and her husband Marshall, all of Easley; two sisters-in-law, Mozelle Banks of Travelers Rest and Virginia Banks of Easley; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Randall Banks; two brothers, Walter and Clyde Banks; and a sister, Janelle Denton.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Peters Creek Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Earl Reid and Rev. James Avant.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown from 6:30 UNTIL 8 P.M. tUESDAY.

The family is at the home.
