In 1820 Elizabeth Fair married the farmer Johannes "John" Ellenberger II in Sugar Creek Twp., Armstrong Co., PA. Between 1821 and 1846 they had 8 sons and 3 daughters. In the order of their births they were named: Isaac, Simon, William J, Mary Ann, Jacob, Elizabeth, John Ellenberger III, Lucinda, Charles Edgar, Lebias and Enos Ellenberger.

Census reports from 1830 to 1850 place the family in Sugar Creek Township and then from 1860 to 1880 they are living in Fairview Twp., Butler Co., PA.

Her husband John resided on this farm down to his death, in 1881, aged eighty-one years. Elizabeth died on the old homestead in Armstrong county, in 1891, aged eighty-nine years.
