CHEROKEE - Freda M. Ashmore Imhof, 89, Cherokee, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at Hospital District No. 1 of Crawford County, Girard.
She was born May 15, 1915, at Pittsburg, the daughter of Vernie and Alice Scott Ashmore.
She attended schools at Gooding and West Union, and was a lifetime area resident.
In 1934 she married Ernest Imhof. They later divorced.
Mrs. Imhof worked for Annshire Garment Company, Pittsburg, and then for the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, Parsons. She retired in 1985.
Membership was held in the Cherokee United Methodist Church and the Cherokee Order of the Eastern Star, where she had received her 50-year pin.
Survivors include two daughters, Marion Imhof of Cherokee, and Carol Ann Boore of Benson, Ariz.; a brother, Donald Ashmore of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Ruth Sims of Girard; three grandchildren and four great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Ashmore, four sisters, Bertha Thurston, Thelma Tripp, Mildred Marchbanks and Dorothy Jackson, and a grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Cherokee United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Banks officiating.
Burial will be in the Cherokee City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Brenner Mortuary Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. Fourth.
