Wounded at the battle of Cedar Creek October 19, 1864, he was admitted to Mowrer U.S. Hospital, Philadelphia, where he discharged the service by surgeon's certificate May 19, 1865. He is on the roster as 'Liddick'.
He married Susan Imhoff and fathered William Clarence (b. 12/13/76), Mary E. (b. @1879), Carrie Dell (b. 08/21/80 - married Charles Leslie Randall), John Wesley (b. 05/25/82), Andrew Jackson & Charles Edward (b. 05/10/84), and Frederick Benjamin (b. 08/19/86). Every relative in Perry County spelled the family name 'Liddick'."
