Rev. Dr. Clarice M. Bowman was a woman of the clergy. She graduated with B.A., B.D. and A.M. degrees from Duke University and was the Jonathan Fisher Professor Emeritus at Bangor Theological Seminary. She was one of the first women to receive a degree from the Duke School of Religion when she graduated in 1933. Bowman received the Divinity School's Distinguished Alumni Award in 1984.

She was the author of several books including: Ways Youth Learn, The Living Art of Worship, Guiding Intermediates, When I Worship, Resources for Worship, Power Through Prayer, Ways We Worship, and Spiritual Values in Camping.
