CLAXTON - Lester Colson, 71, died Saturday at Evans County Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

The lifelong resident of Evans County was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Doris H. Colson of Hagan; a son, Raymond Colson of Sylvania; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Hutchinson of Statesboro and Mrs. Dave L. Gord of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Mollie Sowell and Mrs. Annie J. Rountree, both of Claxton; and three grandchildren.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, burial in Lower Lotts Creek Cemetery.
