Gravestone lost
Eldest child of Ellis & Sarah Aylesworth Austin. On 23 Dec. 1784 at West Greenwich, RI she married John Eldridge Jr., Rev. War Soldier. By 1787 they were in White Creek, Washington Co., NY, where they began their family of 8 or 9 children. Before 1805 they resided in Hartford, NY until about 1820 when they moved to Groton, NY with some of their children. Body was removed from Main St. Graveyard to Rural Cemetery in 1860, Lot 60, sec. JK. Today no gravestone is found for either of them.
