Kent Edison Spencer passed away on October 2, 2008 at the University of Utah Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

Kent was born on October 18, 1934 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to John Edison and Louise Matson Spencer. He attended schools in Fairview and graduated from Wasatch Academy in 1952. This good and kind man would go out of his way for anyone, even strangers - so much talent and so willing to share. It is rare to find someone so genuine. Through his constant search for knowledge, he was instrumental in keeping the flow of water to the little community where his beloved cabin is located.

He leaves a multitude of friends and family who love him and will miss him dearly: Marylynn Coleman Spencer, his wife of 55 years; his brothers Joseph (Dixie) and Richard; his daughters Elizabeth Weight, Deborah Hoehne (David), Pam Spencer-Hockett (Steve) and Lynne Spencer-Smith (Greg); his grandchildren David Hoehne (Jen), Joseph Call, Aaron Hoehne (Crystol), Sarah Shafter (John), Jessica Garrett (Jerome) and Angela Jewett (Tyson); his six great-grandchildren; his special friends from his thirty-three year career with IBM, his days in the Bountiful Jaycees, and from the Islander Resort in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Ann Steuer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary located at 295 North Main Street in Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held at the Mortuary on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
Interment at Lakeview Memorial Estates Cemetery, Bountiful, Utah.
