Eugene F. Bode, 76 of Route 1, New Ulm died Friday, May 28, 1999 at his home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery, both in New Ulm.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 7:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour prior to the service at the church.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Joyce and Kevin Gierach of Brownsville, Wis., Marcia and Steven Lapham of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Beth and Richard Walters of New Ulm, Brenda and Gary Jeffers of Peoria, Ariz.; son Steven Bode and his wife Carmen Grosse of Ralston Neb.; step-daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jack Kovala of Apple Valley; step sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Darla Lyndgaard of Waseca, Paul and Vickie Lyndgaard of LeSueur; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; eight step-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Verona Wuertz of Austin, Adelheid Biermann of Winthrop, Marie Burk of Belle Plaine, Eunice and Reuben Kroeger of New Ulm; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerhard and Dorothy Bode of Muskogee, Okla., Roland and Esther Bode of Saginaw, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Alice Bode of Gibbon, Adeline Bode of Brainerd; brother-in-law, Paul Moeller of Tipton, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorene (Dallmann) Bode in1987; his second wife, Lola (Lyndgaard) Bode in August,1998; grandson, Micah Lapham; brothers, John, Reinhold, Henry Bode; sisters, Frieda Panning, Irma Moeller; brothers-in-law, William Panning, Alvin Wuertz, Edward Biermann,and Cornelius Burk; sister-in-law, Edna
Bode.

He was born Sept. 22, 1922 in Willow Creek to Henry and Maria (Friedrich) Bode. He attended Day Christian School in Willow Creek and graduated from Dr. Martin Luther High School in New Ulm. He married Lorene Dallmann on June 3, 1947 at Trinity Evangelic Lutheran Church in Nicollet. He was self-employed in Feed and Poultry Sales most of his life. He had been a custodian for St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and had the sextant for the Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm for many years. He married Lola Lyndgaard on December 30, 1990 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. He was a past member of the Faith Lutheran Church in New Ulm and a present member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
